Re: Karen Brady stole West Ham from its fans
To the people bleating don't go (or rather fuck off), many tenured supporters and their families will unfortunately. People are expressing an opinion which on a forum should be encouraged.

Brady makes me feel sick whenever I hear one of her straplines in the media about our rear club, she has not earned the right to comment about West Ham United FC like this. She is just an employee. To call supporters customers and to continually harp on about our brand shows you just how out of touch she is with the genuine West Ham fan. The sad thing is she actually doesn't care about that because she is shaping a new breed of supporter. She wants the ground full of Giles's and Bartholomew's and their children. She wants the ground full of plums that will by 3 shirts every 9 months and popcorn. She despises the 'scum' that currently populated 70% of the ground and will make sure these are cleansed over the next five years. She posts pictures on twitter of a half finished glasses Wine Red, TV on in the background with captions about watching herself in The Aprentice - that says it all about her as a person. A super Cunt.

If that doesn't bother you because you love your new athletics ground fair enough but it bothers a lot of other people, in fact it makes a lot of people very sad.

I pray these three idiots sell and a new owner demolishes the ground and re-builds a football stadium or better still buys back Upton Park and rebuilds us a ground on her home but I doubt either will happen so I have accepted that I was lucky to get 30 ears of support in before the Club changed forever. I'm one of the fortunate ones.

We still have away games so that's one positive.

Who cares? Since when do you have to justify your reason for having a ST or prove your alliegience more worthy than others?

I'm fucking disgusted with some WHU fans right now, it's the scummy elitest cunts that need reminding that they aren't no more WHU than anyone else.

What the fuck has happened to this club? It's got nothing to do with Brady or G&S.

Re: Karen Brady stole West Ham from its fans
Why didn't those people who you know who went occasionally want an ST at UP but suddenly can manage one at the OS?

I expect because it's a nicer more appealing place to go every other week.

THAT'S GENTRIFICATION YOU THICK CUNT.

I don't care if they'd been before, they wouldn't lower themselves to an ST until we went to Stratford, there's no dressing that up.

Re: Karen Brady stole West Ham from its fans
End of the day, its happened and there is no going back, get over it or move on, support another team, not that I think that is possible.

No use blaming Brady, she was hired to do a job, that’s what she is doing, personally it does feel like we have lost a part of our soul by moving from UP (and I don’t even go to games!), but like all things in life, most of us will come to terms and accept the changes in time, particularly if we win something, mind you just winning a game seems difficult enough at the moment and that’s not helping the mood.

Re: Karen Brady stole West Ham from its fans
Let's face it, most of us will go along with the new stadium some liking it, some not so much but still going. There is a hysterical element though who have spent the last few years moaning about the move and the owners on the OS thread, they are now looking for anything to prove themselves right and daily moan about these issues. None of the problems are insurmountable but it is only about 10 to 15 posters repeating the same old tired arguments over and over and over ad infinitum.

If I disliked the club so much I would not bother going or even posting on here. Upton Park is now a memory, we aren't going back, time moves on and so do we.

Brady stole my club - what a load of drivel

Kaiser Zoso sums it up - JUST FUCK OFF

Kaiser Zoso 2:12 Sat Oct 8
Re: Karen Brady stole West Ham from its fans
The only thing I'm gutted about the move is it showing what a cunty element we have in our fanbase.

Thought West Ham was about family. Turns out it's about cunts banging on about pride and tradition with no such understanding of it.

Seems a bunch of pricks would rather spoil it for everyone else than actually act according to their own feelings about a ground they apparently aren't interested in.

JUST FUCK OFF.

Re: Karen Brady stole West Ham from its fans
I've been going since 1993. I missed many of the best years which my Dad still waxes lyrical about - the FA cups, Cottee and McAvennie (ok I saw Cottee the second time around but it wasn't the same)...Brooking, Devonshire, Bonds, Moore...Eintracht Frankfurt. But amidst the dross I saw (Mike Newell, Steve Jones, Iain Dowie, that Sasa Ilic game, plus the more recent relegations and so on obviously) I had some experiences which will stick with me forever. Blackburn, Man Utd, Ipswich...and yet without doubt that final game against Man Utd was up there with the best of them.

I left that game with my Dad, the most cynical and unemotional person I know, almost in tears. He'd been going to Upton Park since about 1959 as a small kid pushed to the front of the terracing by his uncle. He said then it was one of his finest memories too, and given what he had seen that counts for a lot.

I am not anti the move. I could see the reasons behind it. And I remain willing to give Stratford a chance. I still enjoy going over there because I am seeing West Ham, my team. And no one can ever take that away from me. But the way the whole thing has been handled has been apalling. I will still enjoy it as long as I go, as will my Dad. But I can see it becoming diluted. Would I fall in love with West Ham the way I did at 10 years old if I was going for the first time now? I'm not so sure. And I cannot imagine anything in that stadium ever comparing to that final night at UP which already seems like something from a different age.

That night just be 'progress', of a sort. But what really winds me up is the fuss the owners made about 'Farewell Boleyn', sharing videos of the celebrations after Reid's goal etc, when they are now apparently utterly disapproving of anyone standing (which every single person was doing in those videos) and determined to erase any trace of the old West Ham as if it were an unsavoury, disgraced uncle.

Re: Karen Brady stole West Ham from its fans
, this is true of myself and a number of others. As a family we had season tickets at Upton Park in the past for various reasons we gave them up but continued to attend regularly. We had the chance of cheaper season tickets at the OS and took it. To others we may appear new but I can still remember going to watch Bobby Moore play.

, 1:44 Sat Oct 8
Re: Karen Brady stole West Ham from its fans
How did they gentrify things?

I know several people who have got season tickets for the OS who over the years have been occasional attenders at the Boleyn ground. The people around me are mostly from the old ground and the majority of so called new fans have long been WHU supporters so they are really no different to us.

COOL HAND LUKE 1:39 Sat Oct 8
Re: Karen Brady stole West Ham from its fans
I made the point way back that we would be the natural victims of a concerted gentrification of the crowd once we were in the OS, and of course got roundly cunted off for it at the time.

And here we are. Some say Brady just wants to fill the stadium, has no interest in the make up of the crowd, and does not even understand the correlation between old skool fans and the 'soul' of the club anyway.

I disagree.

I think she understands it all too fucking well...

More than any other London club, you sense we have been reinvented to attract the football tourists and the big earners in the city who have no affiliation and can afford to buy three or four season tickets across the city and suit themselves who they watch each week (hence just one of the reasons for the gaps in the crowd).

These people are the footballing equivalent of Stepford Wives, checking the squad lists on the back of their programmes every time we pass the fucking ball. And it's an homogenization of sorts too: they have just turned up, they don't really belong, and already they want the rest of us to do it 'their' way.

I accept that I may feel different about it in a year or two, but there's no evidence of that at present. We all have a long history of time served and memories at UP, and for some of us, it may be that we really have left that 'thing' behind at UP forever.

Best you can say is it's a 'work in progress'...

She's a despicable lying cunt who has been lying about everything since the day she arrived.

And for the record, we shouldn't be making the best of it. It's a shithole, vast areas still resemble a building site. With some investment it might become adequate. Most of it is basic stuff. Anyone who has had an thing less than 100% satisfaction should be bombarding them until they take their heads out of their arses and put right.

I have been watching West Ham since I was 6 years old. I am now nearly 50.

I have seen us win the FA Cup once in that time.

Re: Karen Brady stole West Ham from its fans
Bombarding them won't work Stewie. As you have said they don't give a toss what we think. They had a clear plan and are following it through to the letter.

I personally don't think they have the money or ambition to improve us much further and would be happy to see them move on if the right buyer came along. But I'm not going to stress myself out over it.
